One Sad Post

I promise, this is going to be my last sad post.

From the song Better Off Alone by Katherine McPhee:

I may be found, somewhere tonight
Cursing the day you walked into my life
What's done is done, I can't change time
But I'll be damned if I'm not gonna try

But every now and then, my heart gives in
To the hope that someday you'll change
Then alone I'll wake, to my own mistake
That it's just a foolish game

Cause Baby I'm tired, tired of the fight
I'm tired of the lonely days and the dark endless nights
It's taken some time, cause I didn't know
If I could ever let you go
You helped me figure it out...I'm better off alone.

The American Idol Finale

I haven't watched a single episode of American Idol this season, because my home during weekdays doesn't have a TV. So when I went to the gym awhile ago and saw the Finale running, I jumped on the nearest available elliptical machine (of course near the TV) and proceeded to watch and do ellipses (can't think of a better term). I didn't get to see the whole show, because that would mean that I would have to spend 2 hours on the elliptical, but AI is still as good, if not better, than I remember it to be.

First of all, that Blake guy is soooo good with he beep-boxing. The guests were, as always, astounding - Smokey Robinson, Tony Bennet, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Bette Midler, and Green Day. Too bad I didn't hear Blake and Jordin's final songs.

Kudos to Jordin! She's very pretty and talented.

One Cool Website... and Classmate

When I applied to IESE last October, Nuria, my assigned admissions coordinator, gave me a couple of links that she said would be useful for the IESE application process.

One was the TAP - I forget what it stands for but it tracks your application to IESE. The website gives a list of the requirements for application and gives you your status on each requirement. It's pretty neat tool except that the adcom doesn't update it as quickly as they should.

The other one was for the IESE Discussion Forum. Now, this is very neat, because in here, every applicant (or maybe just chosen applicants?) is given the chance to meet each other and give each other tips on the application process. There are also current IESE students - they call 'em Ambassadors - who help out.

Now, apart from these two links, there is another one that an IESE admit made. It's really cool! It lists down all attending IESE admits and gives a short profile on each. Check it out here.

I really was impressed with the enthusiasm and skills that my future classmates will bring to our class. (And I'm seriously knowledge-impaired on how the internet works so I'm REALLY impressed!) I'm planning on leaving Manila on the 12th of August, so I have less than 3 months to go. I can't wait! :)

Summer Escapades

This has been my most eventful summer yet! I'm glad to say that I haven't been blogging much because I've been busy with work, preparing for IESE, and doing summer-y stuff.

About 3 weeks ago, I was in Camp John Hay in Baguio, and last Saturday was my intro dive in Anilao. The dive went really great! Hopefully, I won't be too lazy to post something about it soon.
