It's Not Always Sunny in Barcelona

These were the wise words that a Spanish guy told me yesterday when I had lunch with a friend in IESE. "I think you were fooled by the advertising!" he joked.

It's been drizzling lately in Barcelona, and it's far from the weather that I experienced last week when I got here. Last week had the tourist-and-beach-friendly weather that I expected, but to tell you the truth, the rain now? It's not too bad. I mean, where I come from, when it rains, the city gets flooded and people die. So I guess I'm trying to say is that I love the weather here!

I might have been fooled into thinking that it never rains in Barcelona, but so far, I think I'm getting the real deal with IESE! Having met my future classmates and visited the campus, I am truly excited to be here. (But let's see. I might regret all this and ask for my mommy when we start the program. People are starting to scare me by saying I will lucky to get 5 hours of sleep a night.)

But before the cases and intensive Spanish lessons come in, there had been some partying going on! I think the Spanish take partying to another level. I don't know how to explain it... Clubbing starts at 2am, so guess what time people go home?

The sun is starting to come out now, and I need to get some errands done before going to the bank to get my ATM card and see a flat this afternoon. Tonight is an Indian dinner for about 40 of the MBA students currently in Barcelona in a restaurant owned by one of IESE's admissions directors. I can't wait to get some Asian food!
